A portfolio is proof, not decoration
A resume claims; a portfolio proves. For technical and operational roles that proof is a dashboard, a schematic, a runbook, a cost model or a before-and-after chart — not a beautifully typeset PDF with nothing inside it.
The case-study shape
Context, constraint, what you did, what changed, what you would do differently. Five short blocks per project, three to six projects total. The last block is what senior interviewers actually read.
Handling confidentiality
Anonymise clients, index numbers instead of publishing them, and redact anything under NDA. Describing the shape of a result is nearly always permissible; publishing the client's raw data is not.
